Of Lightsabers, Awards And Other Miscellaneous Stuff

Hey, everyone! How's it going? Does anyone have any houses I can clean? No, seriously. I've spent the last two days cleaning houses (one due to renovations, the other because some friends of ours were moving -- and that meant we had to clean both of their houses. At least our house is clean.

Barriss on her blog Opine of Mine has awarded me with... *checks stats* The Jedi Master Award! Thanks, Barriss! To accept it, I must answer seven questions.

1. Who is your Jedi Master?
Hmmm. Well, I would like to say Ferus Olin, but since he never made it to Knight, I'll go with Galen Marek.

*receives suspicious stares* What?

2. What is your Jedi name?
*laughs* My real name (not my screen name) is actually used at least three times in the Star Wars Universe, and, yes, one time, it's for a Jedi. (I'm also a Queen, and I can't remember where I read the third one.)

I seem to be in quite the pickle here, as I'm not going to give out my real name. Let's just say my name is Scarlett -- like my Master, I live under code names.

3. What's your lightsaber color?
Blue.

4. What is your home planet?
Onderon. (hinthint)

5. What is the name of your ship?
Well, it's technically not my ship, as Galen refuses to let me fly after that "incident" near the black hole, but I practically live in the Rogue Shadow.

6. Which war do you fight in?
*facepalm* I'm so embarrassed to be saying this, but I can't remember what the war is that takes place in the Original Trilogy. A little help here? I think I'm thinking of the Galactic Civil War...?

7. Who is your worst enemy?
Darth Sidious.

8. Will you stay loyal to the Jedi?
*roguish grin* Look at my Master. I'm no Jedi. Of course I'm not loyal to them.

Now I must award five people.

Leauphaun gets the Jedi Padawan Award, since she'll be accepting this award on her Day In The Life Of An Artist blog, which is much younger than her other blogs. *shouts* You hear me, Leauphaun??

I don't know if Ley Firewalker has been awarded this yet, but I'm giving it to her anyway.

And anyone else who wants to take this, since not all of my follows are into Star Wars.

Here are the guidelines for the award:

In order to win the Jedi Padawan Award, your blog must be 3 months old.

In order to win the Jedi Knight Award, your blog must be at least 8 months old.

In order to win the Jedi Master Award, your blog must be at least a year old.

In order to win the Dark Jedi (Sith) Award, your blog must be at least 7 months old.

Oh, yeah, and Happy Canada Day!!! Eat some poutine in honor of Canada, eh?

Not entirely sure what a penguin has to do with Canada, since penguins live in Antarctica (maybe in honor of Sidney Crosby?), but he is kinda cute.

Another Award

I was graced with another award yesterday, but due to my hectic day, I didn't have time to accept it. Now I have time. Thanks, Ley for the award!

There aren't any conditions (that I know of) so I'll just hand it off to a couple of people:

I may or may not do another post today, so keep your eyes open.

Question: Did anyone watch YC last night? We were busy so I didn't get to see any of it. Did they show Switchfoot? I heard that they couldn't due to copyright and cost issues. Just wondering.

Note: Hehe. This is my 87th post. In honor of that, here's a picture.

This picture didn't quite work out this year. I'm counting on next year.

In Which I Spazz About Three Things

Contrary to popular belief, I am not dead. I've just lost my motivation for blogging. In fact, I've lost my motivation for a lot of things right now. A quick hint: tags help me blog more often. *wise nod* Very inspiring.

In other new: YC ALBERTA 2011 STARTS IN LESS THAN TWENTY-FOUR HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I'm excited about this. Since I can't be there this year (and there's only three reasons to be there anyway) I guess I'll have to take the next best thing: watching it live on the website, where they'll be streaming it all weekend. I'll post the link either tomorrow morning or afternoon.

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S BEEN A YEAR SINCE WE WERE IN ALBERTA!!!!!!!      Creepy...

Leauphaun's line of the day: You know you have too many drawings when you forget you have some.

I did this the other day with my writing. I went back and read the half-completed short story-turned-novella I've had on the go for several months and read the second half again (as I can't stand the first half). I was pleasantly surprised at my writing, even to the point where I'd completely forgotten that I'd written several thousand words. It made my, uh, night.

Several months ago, I got an idea for another story, the summery of which sounded something like this:

Two characters (Eldra and Daymond?) must protect a family from a corrupt government that is persecuting them for their faith.

Okay, so the entire summery was a bit longer than that, but you get the idea. Two weeks ago, I woke up one morning and had huge chunks of plot fall into place. I wrote almost half the plot and four character bios on my iPod before I even got out of bed. As of today, the basic outline is over five hundred words, and I'm about half way through the plot. I've decided to cut Eldra from the entire story, as I'm more interested in Daymond right now. (And once more I fall for the bad boy.)

The unusual thing about this story is I'm hoping to focus more attention on character development and the spiritual aspect than the crazy action/fight scenes that I seem to be so fond of.

Two songs in particular seem to be inspiring me: Fades Away's "Right Now (We'll Stand), Skillet's "Hero". If you listen to the lyrics in both songs, the first one is talking about not being a hero, while Skillet's song is about being a hero. That's the direction I want to take with Daymond in this story (and his overall life). Plot details for this new novella will emerge soon.

Also, I have received an award from Barriss!!! Thanks!

To accept the award I need to list seven interesting things about myself.

1. I CAN'T WAIT for the new RED music video to come out. (clip #1 here and #2 here)

2. If rock music wasn't invented, LOTR music would be my favorite, specifically Concerning Hobbits.

3. I've seen Skillet in person one time and twice online, all before Ben Kasica left. *teardrop*

4. I've discovered that Daymond (my anti-hero with heroic qualities) is a more complex character than I'd ever dreamed, even surpassing Eldra (my main character and protagonist).

5. I could live with snakes, if only I never had to see another spider again in my life!

6. I prefer supper foods for breakfast. Leauphaun is the exact opposite.

7. CLU has officially become my favorite TRON: Legacy character, surpassing Sam by miles.

I must pass this award onto 15 other people. I won't list anyone in particular, but if you haven't received this award yet, you are free to take it, as long as you comment with a link to your post.

And speaking of CLU, Leauphaun completed another music video yesterday to Skillet's remixed song "Monster, now titled "Monster: Unleash The Beast". Check the video out below.

This song fits CLU perfectly. I dare you argue that point with me. *disarming grin*

I'm A Stylish Blogger?

Apparently Leia Firewalker thinks so -- she has awarded me with the Stylish Blogger Award. But there are conditions...

 1. Thank the person who awarded me!

Thanks, Leia! I'm honored.

2. Write seven things about myself.

~I obsess about chocolate, hate coffee (except for the smell) but love chocolate covered coffee beans. Go figure.

~My birthday is also national hairball day. I think it's a conspiracy.

~I'm old enough to vote in this coming election.

~I'm peeved that there are more Legolas posters than Aragorn posters. Come on! Who's the King in that trilogy, anyway? Definitely not Legolas! Stupid Elvish princling, fangirls love him and can't get enough of him and...

*ahem*

~I am in the live DVD Thousand Foot Krutch is coming out at the beginning of June. *spazzes* Just how am I supposed to wait another month and a half for the DVD to come out?????

~I sometimes dream about my blogger friends. O_o And some of them more than others.

~I love watching thunderstorms. There`s something about lightning that makes me happy. Too bad we don't get them here very often (and that they practically always start fires); in Alberta, we'd get thunderstorms all summer long.

3. I must pass it on the seven bloggers.

4. I must tell them.

I pass this award along to...

Squeaks
Jake
Star-dreamer
Ryebrynn
Leauphaun
Miss Pickwickian
Barriss Offee

If you already have this award, forget I even gave it to you. Everyone else, pass it along!

I'll try to get back into a habit of blogging, but my creativeness has been missing recently. Hopefully I can persuade it to come back.
