Dubai airport

The airport handled a total of 34.34 million passengers, well over the projected 33 million for the year.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Dubai manages the airport, and it was the 27th busiest airport in the world in 2007, handling 34.34 million passengers. The airport has set its target of 40 million passengers for 2008.
From 1997 to 2007, the number of annual passengers increased by 316%


Emirates airline is Dubai´s international airline and has its main hub at Dubai International Airport.
The airport operates flights from Dubai to North America, Europe, South America, East Asia, Southwest Asia, South Asia, Australasia, and Africa. Most major airlines fly into Dubai airport on a daily basis. The airport will be complemented by Dubai World Central International Airport, a new 140 square kilometer airport that will help handle the projected growth of travelers over the next decades.


It is expected when built to be the fourth largest airport in the world by physical size. It is expected to be finished by the year 2017. When finished, Dubai International Airports are expected to be able to accommodate up to 70 million passengers.
